Here is a detailed analysis to help you calculate how much you can save by heating your hot water with propane over electricity.

To determine your Total KWH charge, be sure to include and total all other fees on your electric bill. Once totaled divide them by the total KWH used and add that number to your rate to determine your total rate.
If you do not know your electric rate, an average rate to use would be $0.10 per KWH.
